Commentary
  • Chasing a target of 171 for a win and squaring the series Zimbabwe faltered as they lost their captain Hamilton Masakadza very early. Then came the twist in the Zimbabwean batting when Brendan Taylor and Craig Ervine joined forces. They started playing their shots and milking the bowlers around. Their 49-run stand stabilized the Zimbabwean innings. When Brendan Taylor fell Zimbabwe still required 110 runs to win. Then walked Sean Williams and that changed the innings completely and his 111-run stand with Craig Ervine sealed the deal for the African nation. So that's it from the Zimbabwe tour of Ireland. ADIOS! Take Care.
  • Opting to field first, Zimbabwe were spot on with their bowling. Sean Williams produced a beauty to dismiss Paul Stirling for a golden duck. Then there was a small budding partnership between Kevin O'Brien and Gary Wilson. Soon from 44/2 they further slumped to 91/4. The cameos from Shane Getkate and Mark Adair ensured that Ireland cross the 150 run mark but there could not be a late flourish from the Irish as both the set batsmen threw it away. Still the Ireland team managed a competitive score of 171 for the loss of nine wickets.
  • What a comprehensive win for Zimbabwe! They have steamrolled Ireland and have chased the total very comfortably. It was the 111-run partnership between Craig Ervine and Sean Williams which sealed the chase for Zimbabwe and drawn the 3-match T20I series 1-1.

G Dockrell to C Ervine, Ervine punches this flatter one outside off, and punches it to off side for a single. 50 up for Ervine. He has just played a superb knock under pressure. He came in to bat at the fall off of Taylor's wicket and since then has looked a calm head.
