Commentary
  • That is it from this game! All to play for in the next. Do join us for the game on the 7th of June at 1020 local (0820 GMT). Till then goodbye.
  • Andy Balbirnie says he is happy with the way the team played, they bowled well and the chase was a lot more composed. Adds he wanted to stay there till the end and it was satisfying. Adds Stirling is very imprtant to them and he is a big player. Ends by saying he feels they bowled bettre with the new ball, there was oisutre and they did really well.
  • Pieter Seelaar says it was a good toss to lose, it got better in the second half and 160 was not enough. States he feels Josh bowled really well and kept bowling in the good areas but all the Irish bowlers bowled well. Adds they will look to come back strong in the next game. Ends by saying he knew it was going to be a similar game like the first one but they did not apply themselves well and they did not play that well.
  • Man of the Match, Josh Little, says he had to turn things around quickly after his injury and the last few months he has worked hard and it has helped him. Mentions he has lost weight and gotten stronger due to which the ball is coming out nicely. States they were gutted after the first game but are pleased with this performance.
  • Earlier in the day, after electing to bat, the Dutch got off to a good start but once the first wicket fell, the procession began. Young and Little were the pick for Ireland and they kept the hosts down to a total which was easily chased in the end.
  • The pacers weren’t as threatening as they were in the first game. Seelaar did cause problems after bowling in the middle overs but it was too little too late.
  • Netherlands needed a few quick wickets but they only got one. Stirling and Balbirnie really eased the pressure with their partnership.
  • A good win for Ireland and they have levelled the series. To be honest, it was their bowlers who set it up for them. Yes, the wicket is tough but just below 160 was never going to be enough.
