Commentary
  • Right then, that is all we have from this game. Do switch tabs and catch the action between Lucknow and Punjab. Punjab have won the toss and elected to bowl first. The action will begin at 7.30 am IST (2 pm GMT) but do follow our build-up to the game. Cheers!
  • Virat Kohli has been announced as the Player of the Match for scoring 50 of 34 balls and three well-taken catches.
  • Earlier, Bangalore got off to a good start courtesy of Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis with the former getting to his 47th half-century. There were contributions from Mahipal Lomror and Glenn Maxwell but at the halfway stage it seemed like the score would not be enough as Khaleel Ahmed initiated a collapse in the middle of their inning. However, the bowlers did a remarkable job to make this a comfortable win.
  • Bangalore looked pumped when they took the field to defend the target and their Impact Player Anuj Rawat pulled off a remarkable piece for fielding to get his team their first scalp. Wayne Parnell claimed a wicket in his first over conceding just one run and Mohammed Siraj was rewarded as well for some fiery bowling. Vyshak Vijay Kumar proved to be a surprise package as he claimed three wickets for 20 runs in his four overs and Mohammed Siraj ended with two under his belt. Wayne Parnell, Harshal Patel, and Wanindu Hasaranga all chipped in with a wicket each but would have liked to bowl their opponents but were unable to do so due to a stubborn 10th-wicket partnership between Anrich Nortje and Kuldeep Yadav.
  • Delhi got off to a disastrous start as they lost Prithvi Shaw on a duck as he looked to steal a dicey single. Things got worse for the visitors as Mitchell Marsh failed to trouble the scorers on his return to the side and Yash Dhull was trapped in front of the stumps the following over leaving their side reeling at 2 for the loss of three wickets. David Warner played a few good shots to get the momentum going but he too departed inside the Powerplay and the visitors were in a whole lot of trouble. Abishek Porel failed to make much of an impact as Manish Pandey fought a lone battle as he notched up a good half-century. Axar Patel played a decent cameo but once both of them departed, they were well behind the game.
  • A remarkable win for Bangalore brings them back on track after two consecutive losses! Their bowlers have bowled remarkably well to help them seal a 23-run win and the crowd looks to be ecstatic to see their side return to winning ways. A poor effort by Delhi as they succumb to their fifth consecutive loss and they are yet to get off the mark in this competition. They need to start changing things up at the earliest as the campaign looks to be steadily slipping out of their grasp.
