Commentary
  • Blanked 3-0 in the Tests, pipped 3-2 in the ODIs and beaten 2-1 in the T20Is. The Pakistan team fought hard in the white ball leg but they head home without any silverware. South Africa would definitely be pleased with this performance and will be looking forward to the Tests at home against Sri Lanka coming up. Thus, a pretty long tour consisting all the formats comes to an end and we saw the visitors being outplayed. Hope you enjoyed the coverage as much as we enjoyed bringing it to you. Take care and cheers!
  • David Miller, the captain of the South African team is also the Man of the Series. He is happy that the Proteas came out and showed their class in all three formats. Says that he enjoyed captaining the side in the T20Is, and thanks his teammates for supporting him and helping him all the way. Applauds the people who got the chance and put their hand up to beat the number 1 side in the world. Reckons that the Pakistani bowling attack is one of the best in the world but it was great the way they played them and got to the victory. He now walks over to collect the trophy and calls over his teammates for the shutterbugs. Lots of smiles around and South Africa must be really pleased by the performance in all 3 formats in this long drawn-out tour.
  • Shadab Khan is the Man of the Match for his all-round performance tonight. Feels that it was a plan to just wait for the last over and then smash how much ever is possible in it. Mentions it was a great tour for them and a lovely learning curve for all of the youngsters. Reckons it was good to come out of the comfort zone of UAE and then bowl here where he did not find it so easy.
  • Shoaib Malik, Pakistan's captain is happy with the win and says that it is good that there are some smiling faces at the end of the night. Feels that they were good in the white ball leg of the tour but concedes that they need to be better in the crunch situations. Reckons that they could have won the series but feels that what is important is to learn from this and come back and do better if they are in the same position again. Praises Shaheen Afridi and mentions that he is talented but needs to continue learning and improve day by day. Laughs slightly when he is asked as to how Pakistan unearth fast bowlers all the time but mentions that it is good for his country, also puts a lot of praise on Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq as well. Continues to say that it was a good learning curve for them and mentions it is important to play well abroad. Signs off by congratulating the South African team for winning all 3 series.
  • South Africa were maybe complacent. Had a very bad Powerplay and then the pressure got the better of them. Miller, Rassie didn't find the gaps and left Morris with too much to do. Earlier on in the evening, the hosts had Pakistan well under control but a final burst from Shadab Khan ensured Pakistan get to 168. It proved to be the difference in the end. Stay tuned for the final presentation of the tour.
  • The visitors started well picking up two early wickets in the Powerplay. That pegged the hosts back. They then got the big wickets of Klaasen, Miller and Rassie at regular intervals stopping the flow of runs. Morris got to his maiden T20I fifty but was left with plenty to get in the end. Imad bowled 4 overs at a stretch and was brilliant. Amir got 3 while Shaheen gave him good company. All the bowlers got a wicket with Shadab and Ashraf bagging a brace.
  • What a win for Pakistan. They manage to comfortably by 27 runs in the end. After the first innings, majority thought that 168 was below par but they have bowled out of their skin and defended this target.

S Afridi to C Morris, A perfect yorker to end the match and the tour, kept out towards point by Morris. Afridi ends a super night for him with the ball having figures of 4-0-23-1 and Pakistan will be smiling at least with the result tonight. THEY WIN THIS GAME BY 27 RUNS BUT THE SERIES IS TAKEN BY SOUTH AFRICA 2-1.
