Shekhar H. Tekkanavar appointed as new Davangere district SP

Davangere: Shekhar H. Tekkanavar has been appointed as the new Superintendent of Police of Davangere district. Prior to this posting, he was serving as SP in the Intelligence Department in Bengaluru.

Outgoing SP Uma Prashanth, who has been transferred from Davangere, has not yet been assigned a new posting. During her tenure in the district, Uma Prashanth had successfully cracked the biggest bank robbery case reported in Nyamati. She had also earned public appreciation for arresting individuals involved in a drug trafficking network, including those identified as close associates of the district in-charge minister.

In addition, Uma Prashanth had faced allegations from MLA B.P. Harish, who claimed that the SP was guarding a minister’s house. In response, she had filed a police complaint against the MLA.
