Ducati has continued its aggressive 2025 product rollout in India with the introduction of the new Streetfighter V2, following closely on the heels of the updated Panigale V2 and Multistrada V2. Offered in two distinct versions, the Streetfighter V2 and the Streetfighter V2 S, the naked superbike blends Ducati’s signature race-derived engineering with a lighter and more accessible package. With premium hardware, an advanced electronics suite and significant weight advantages, the latest Streetfighter V2 range strengthens Ducati’s position in the premium street-naked segment.

Two Variants, One Aggressive Formula

The 2025 Streetfighter V2 arrives in India with two price points aimed at different types of performance riders. The standard model has been launched at Rs 17.50 lakh, while the higher-spec V2 S carries a price tag of Rs 19.49 lakh. Despite being part of the same family, the two variants differ meaningfully in terms of suspension equipment and dry weight, giving buyers a clear distinction based on riding preferences and budget.

Both models share the same platform as the Panigale V2, but adopt a more upright, street-focused design while retaining the aggressive styling cues Ducati’s naked bikes are known for. The imposing stance, exposed frame, wing-style extensions and sharp bodywork collectively give the Streetfighter V2 a purposeful, ready-to-attack appearance.

New 890cc Twin Sets a Benchmark for Weight

Powering the new Streetfighter V2 is Ducati’s freshly developed 890cc V-twin engine. The motor delivers 120hp at 10,750rpm and 93.3Nm at 8,250rpm. While these figures are lower compared to the outgoing 955cc unit, the new engine’s biggest achievement is its weight. At just 54.4kg, it stands as the lightest twin-cylinder engine Ducati has ever engineered.

This substantial weight saving has a direct impact on the bike’s overall mass. The standard Streetfighter V2 weighs 178kg without fuel, whereas the V2 S records an even lighter 175kg dry. Ducati claims this makes the Streetfighter V2 S the lightest Streetfighter model produced to date, giving it superior agility and enhanced flickability for both road and track environments.

Suspension Differences Define the Riding Experience

Ducati has created a strong visual and functional contrast between the two variants through their suspension choices. The entry-spec Streetfighter V2 is fitted with a fully adjustable Marzocchi fork at the front and a KYB monoshock at the rear, offering a balanced performance setup suitable for spirited street riding.

The Streetfighter V2 S, however, steps into premium territory with top-tier Ohlins suspension. Riders get a fully adjustable NIX 30 front fork and a high-spec rear shock that elevate handling confidence, especially at higher speeds or under hard braking. Both models feature a Sachs steering damper for improved stability at aggressive lean angles.

Tyre duties on both variants are managed by Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV units in 120/70 front and 190/55 rear sizes, ensuring strong grip levels in varied conditions.

Advanced Rider Aids Backed by a 6-Axis IMU

Ducati has equipped the Streetfighter V2 with a comprehensive electronics package enabled by a 6-axis IMU. The system integrates a wide set of rider aids, including cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control and a bi-directional quickshifter.

A 5-inch TFT display serves as the interface for all electronic settings and gives riders access to four modes – Race, Sport, Road and Wet. While launch control and a pit limiter come as optional extras on the standard model, both features are offered as standard equipment on the more expensive V2 S.

Price Highlights Its Premium Positioning

Within the middleweight streetfighter category, the Ducati Streetfighter V2 competes with motorcycles like the Kawasaki Z900 and Triumph Street Triple RS. However, its pricing positions it significantly higher than both rivals, making Ducati’s offering the most premium among them. The elevated cost reflects its superior electronics, high-end components and Ducati’s performance pedigree.

With two variants offering different riding dynamics and equipment levels, the new Streetfighter V2 line-up aims to attract riders seeking an aggressive yet lightweight street-naked with modern rider aids and unmistakable Italian flair.
