Kawasaki has refreshed its street-naked performance machine, the Z900, for 2025 and officially introduced it to the Indian market. Priced at ₹9.52 lakh (ex-showroom), the latest Z900 comes packed with numerous improvements across styling, technology, and safety. This iteration is offered in striking dual-tone colourways and continues to compete with other premium middleweight motorcycles in its segment. With updated electronics and a sharper aesthetic, the Z900 sets a new standard for enthusiasts seeking a thrilling, modern ride.

Design Evolution: Sharper Looks and Sporty Appeal

The 2025 Z900 gets a noticeable visual upgrade while preserving the aggressive styling DNA it’s known for. One of the standout updates is the redesigned LED headlamp setup, which gives the motorcycle a more angular and contemporary appearance. This facelift not only enhances road presence but also improves visibility during night rides.

Complementing the refreshed front end are the newly available colour options: metallic black with lime green accents and metallic carbon paired with red highlights. These combinations reflect Kawasaki’s racing heritage while offering a premium and sporty visual appeal that caters to enthusiasts.

All-New TFT Display and Updated Controls

The cockpit has received a significant modernisation with the addition of a 5-inch full-colour TFT display. Riders now benefit from clearer information and improved readability in various lighting conditions. Moreover, this new screen offers smartphone pairing via Bluetooth, enabling navigation and ride data access through Kawasaki’s Rideology mobile app.

Switchgear has also been revamped, with buttons and toggles inspired by Kawasaki’s larger displacement motorcycles. The tactile improvements and more intuitive layout make everyday riding smoother and more engaging.

Enhanced Electronic Rider Aids

A major leap forward in this update is the electronics suite, which positions the Z900 among the most advanced offerings in its class. For the first time, Kawasaki includes ride-by-wire throttle technology, paving the way for new features such as cruise control and a bi-directional quickshifter—both of which come as standard.

Additionally, the inclusion of a 5-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) takes safety and performance up a notch. This advanced sensor allows for precise traction control and cornering ABS, ensuring optimal stability in varied riding conditions. Power modes and integrated riding modes further enable riders to tailor the motorcycle’s behaviour to their preferences and road surfaces.

Engine: Familiar Power, Cleaner Output

Powering the new Z900 is the same beloved 948cc inline-four engine, delivering 123 bhp and 98.6 Nm of torque. It remains paired with a slick-shifting 6-speed gearbox, now aided by the standard quickshifter for seamless gear changes in both directions.

While the core performance figures remain unchanged, the engine has been re-engineered to comply with the latest Euro5+ emissions norms. This results in a cleaner and more eco-conscious ride without sacrificing the Z900’s signature performance.

Hardware: Proven Foundation with Upgraded Components

The 2025 model continues to rely on Kawasaki’s trusted steel trellis frame, known for its stability and dynamic balance. However, key components have been improved to enhance handling and braking capabilities.

At the front, the Z900 now comes equipped with dual 300mm disc brakes mated to radially mounted 4-piston Nissin callipers, providing stronger and more responsive braking power. The suspension remains unchanged but continues to deliver a good balance between road comfort and sporty feedback.

Rounding out the hardware updates are the new Dunlop Sportmax Q5A tyres. These performance-focused tyres offer superior grip and better handling, especially under aggressive cornering, making the Z900 even more enjoyable on twisty roads and track days.

Positioning and Market Competition

The refreshed Z900 is brought to India as a completely built-up (CBU) unit, allowing Kawasaki to retain premium quality standards. It continues to go head-to-head with motorcycles such as the Triumph Street Triple R, Ducati Monster, and Honda CB650R in the premium middleweight naked segment.

With its aggressive pricing and an extensive list of tech updates, the 2025 Kawasaki Z900 is likely to appeal strongly to performance enthusiasts looking for a modern, powerful motorcycle with daily usability.

Bookings Open Now Across India

Kawasaki dealerships across the country have begun accepting bookings for the new Z900, with deliveries expected to begin shortly. Riders can choose between the two colour schemes, both of which bring a fresh flair to the iconic streetfighter.
