To mark the 50th anniversary of the legendary BMW 3 Series, the company has unveiled a limited-run M340i xDrive “50 Jahre Edition”. Customisation: Exclusive Colours and Premium Materials

The '50 Jahre Edition' embraces nostalgia through five exterior colours inspired by earlier 3 Series generations. Each colour can be paired with one of three premium interior leather options: Black, Ivory or Tartufo.

Inside the cabin, BMW elevates the experience with:

  • Carbon-fibre interior trim

  • Special '3 Series 50 Jahre Edition' badges

  • Extended Merino Leather as standard—a first for any 3 Series model

  • This combination creates a rare blend of heritage styling and modern craftsmanship.

Feature Integration: Exterior Colour Influences Key Enhancements

The chosen exterior colour does more than influence looks—it also determines brake caliper finishes, offered in either red or blue. The “50 Jahre Edition” also includes the Shadowline Package as standard, bringing darkened grille elements, sportier lower-intake accents and adaptive LED headlights.

    Additional M Performance upgrades include:

    • Carbon-fibre rear spoiler

    • 19-inch M dual-spoke alloy wheels

    • M Performance exhaust tips

    • Specialised anniversary badging on the boot

These enhancements give the car a distinct, performance-focused character while honouring its five-decade legacy.

    Engine Specs: Performance Remains Unchanged

Under the bonnet, the special edition remains mechanically identical to the standard M340i xDrive. Power comes from a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six mild-hybrid engine delivering 386 hp and 540 Nm of torque.

Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, the sedan sends power to all four wheels, enabling an impressive 0–97 km/h time of just 4.1 seconds. The '50 Jahre Edition' may be visually unique, but its performance credentials stay true to the M340i formula.

    Market Launch: Pricing and Availability

The BMW M340i xDrive '50 Jahre Edition' is priced at $76,375 (roughly ₹68 lakh) in the United States. BMW has yet to disclose how many units will be produced, adding an air of exclusivity to the launch.

The limited-edition model is expected to arrive early next year, serving as a fitting tribute to five decades of 3 Series evolution.
