Hyundai has broadened the appeal of its popular Verna sedan with the launch of the new SX+ trim, delivering a fresh set of premium features at a competitive price. The new variant aims to strike the right balance between luxury and value, and is available with both manual and iVT transmission options. Loaded with advanced tech, comfort upgrades and a new adapter solution for seamless smartphone connectivity, the SX+ is designed to enhance the driving experience for modern buyers across India.

Pricing and Powertrain Options Now More Accessible

The new SX+ variant of the Hyundai Verna is priced at ₹13.79 lakh (ex-showroom) for the manual version, while the iVT-equipped model carries a tag of ₹15.04 lakh (ex-showroom). Both versions are powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 115 hp of power and 144 Nm of torque. With this move, Hyundai aims to offer more flexibility to buyers who want the latest features without having to opt for the top-end trims.

Interior Features That Stand Out in the Segment

Inside the cabin, the SX+ trim brings a series of enhancements that add to its premium feel. One of the major highlights is the inclusion of ventilated and heated front seats, a rarity in this segment. Buyers will also appreciate the addition of leatherette upholstery, which lends a touch of sophistication to the interiors.

The car is further equipped with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster. The infotainment display now offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility through a newly introduced adapter, aimed at improving convenience for tech-savvy users. An 8-speaker premium audio system by Bose ensures an immersive in-car entertainment experience.

Exterior Updates Enhance Road Presence

Hyundai hasn’t skimped on exterior enhancements either. The SX+ comes with LED headlamps that give it a more contemporary and assertive look on the road. Other design elements remain consistent with the Verna’s bold and aerodynamic styling, making it a compelling choice for customers seeking both aesthetics and function.

Fuel Efficiency Adds to the Appeal

The new Verna SX+ scores high on fuel efficiency as well. The manual transmission variant offers an ARAI-certified mileage of 18.6 kmpl, while the iVT version delivers an even more impressive 19.6 kmpl. These figures position the car competitively within its segment, especially for those who prioritise economical running costs without compromising on features.

Introducing Hyundai’s Wired-to-Wireless Connectivity Adapter

In a move to modernise the tech experience across multiple models, Hyundai has rolled out a new accessory: a wired-to-wireless smartphone adapter. Priced at ₹4,500, this gadget enables wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality in various Hyundai cars including the Verna, Grand i10 Nios, Exter, Aura, Venue, Venue N Line, and Alcazar. This update reflects Hyundai’s commitment to providing user-centric technology that enhances driving convenience across a broad range of vehicles.

Hyundai’s Recent Market Performance Reflects Strong Demand

In addition to the launch of the SX+ variant, Hyundai has reported robust sales figures for May 2025. The company sold a total of 58,701 units last month, which includes 43,861 units in the domestic market and 14,840 units exported to international markets. These numbers reinforce Hyundai’s strong foothold in both local and global automotive sectors.

Why the SX+ Variant Could Be the Sweet Spot for Buyers

The SX+ trim appears to be strategically positioned for customers who desire a feature-packed sedan without stretching their budget to the highest variant. With a strong list of premium features, tech upgrades, and efficient performance, it serves as an ideal choice for both daily commuting and longer drives. The addition of the smartphone adapter only adds to the practicality, making it one of the most value-rich offerings in its price band.
