Kia India has expanded its electric MPV portfolio with the updated Kia Carens Clavis EV for Model Year 2026 (MY26), introducing new GT-Line and X-Line variants along with a more premium 6-seater configuration. The latest update focuses on enhanced comfort, improved styling, and advanced features, making the Carens Clavis EV a more attractive option for family buyers.

One of the biggest highlights of this update is the introduction of a 6-seater layout with captain seats in the second row. This new configuration is designed to offer greater comfort and a more premium in-cabin experience compared to the traditional 7-seater setup. Buyers can now choose between both seating options depending on their preferences.

In terms of design, the GT-Line trims bring a sportier appeal with features like new alloy wheels, lime-colored brake calipers, and metal pedals.

On the other hand, the X-Line variant offers a more rugged and bold look with a dark-themed exterior, including a distinctive Dark Gun Metal shade. Inside the cabin, the vehicle is equipped with a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a massive 26.62-inch dual panoramic display, and more than 85 connected car features. Higher variants also include premium additions such as a digital key and battery heater technology.

The Carens Clavis EV offers two battery pack options to suit different needs.

The standard 42 kWh battery delivers an ARAI-certified range of up to 404 km, while the larger 51.4 kWh battery—available in higher trims like GTX, GTX+, and X-Line—offers an impressive range of up to 490 km on a single charge. The electric motor produces up to 126 kW of power and 255 Nm of torque, ensuring a smooth and capable drive. Fast-charging capability allows the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in just 39 minutes, adding to its practicality.

Safety has also been given priority, with features such as six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), and hill start assist included across variants.

These additions enhance both driver confidence and passenger protection.

Pricing for the updated Carens Clavis EV starts at ₹17.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant and goes up to ₹24.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec GTX+ and X-Line trims. With its extended range, flexible seating options, and feature-rich cabin, the Carens Clavis EV strengthens its position in the growing electric MPV segment in India.
