Kia is preparing to introduce its new entry-level electric crossover, the EV2, at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show on January 9. Earlier showcased as the EV2 Concept, the upcoming model will become Kia’s most affordable electric car once launched.

Kia EV2: First Look from the Teaser
A teaser released on Kia’s digital platforms offers a glimpse of what to expect. It is still unclear whether the production-spec EV2 will closely follow the concept model or share battery options with the Hyundai Inster, which is built on similar technology.

The teaser images show a compact, upright silhouette with a short rear overhang. The rear windscreen and roof-mounted spoiler add a sporty touch. Vertical LED DRLs, LED headlamps, and LED taillights enhance the modern look, while a muscular skid plate and chunky cladding emphasize its crossover stance.
The side profile appears boxy, with an upward-sloping window line, contributing to a rugged, urban-friendly design.

Kia EV2: Expected Powertrain

Kia has yet to reveal official specifications for the EV2. However, the compact electric crossover is expected to be built on Kia’s 400V E-GMP skateboard platform—the same architecture used by the Hyundai Inster.
The Hyundai Inster offers 42 kWh and 49 kWh battery pack options, and the EV2 is likely to adopt similar configurations. The model is expected to feature a single front-mounted motor and deliver an estimated range of 350–400 km on a full charge.
