Used car platform Spinny celebrated a record-breaking Akshaya Tritiya 2025 by delivering over 800 cars in a single day, as buyers across major cities marked the festive occasion with new wheels.
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno led the charge as the most popular model, followed closely by the Hyundai Grand i10 and Renault Kwid — all compact, city-friendly hatchbacks.
Cities like Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, and Delhi-NCR saw the highest sales, while Ahmedabad and Chennai also contributed strongly to the festive buying spree.
Spinny’s April 2025 data reveals shifting buyer preferences in the pre-owned car market. Maruti, Hyundai, and Honda dominated the segment, together making up 63% of all deliveries. The Baleno emerged as a clear favourite, underlining Maruti’s lasting appeal.
Automatic cars are quickly gaining ground. Their share jumped from 21% in April 2024 to 29% this year — a 60% rise in absolute numbers. SUVs are also climbing in popularity, posting a 28% year-on-year growth.
Petrol remains the top fuel choice, powering 85% of all vehicles sold. In terms of colour, buyers stuck with classic and vibrant shades — white, grey, and red accounted for 60% of total selections.
Financing and exchange offers are gaining momentum as well. Spinny reported a 28% increase in loan-backed purchases, and more than 500 customers traded in their old cars for a newer ride.
