Maruti Suzuki has lifted the covers off its newest midsize SUV, the Victoris, which is set to become the flagship of its Arena showroom line-up. The brand is positioning it above existing models in this category, and bookings are already open at a token price of ₹11,000. With a blend of bold styling, premium interiors, three fuel choices, and advanced safety systems, the Victoris is aimed squarely at families looking for a versatile and future-ready SUV.

Distinctive Design Inspired By e Vitara

The Victoris’ design is heavily influenced by the styling language seen in the upcoming Maruti e Vitara. Its front fascia carries slim LED headlights connected by a chrome strip, flanked by a chunky grille, skid plate, and muscular cladding. The side profile is accentuated with 17-inch alloys, roof rails, and blacked-out pillars, while the rear is dominated by a segmented LED bar and bold Victoris branding.

Premium Interiors With Feature-Rich Cabin

Step inside, and the Victoris makes a strong impression with a driver-oriented dashboard. A large 10.25-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay takes centre stage, paired with a digital driver’s display. Features such as ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting, heads-up display, and an 8-speaker system with Dolby Atmos underline the SUV’s premium positioning. The cabin is designed for five occupants, with leatherette upholstery and powered driver’s seat adding to comfort.

Packed With Advanced Safety Technology

Safety is a core highlight of the Victoris, which introduces Level 2 ADAS for the first time on a Maruti model. The SUV has received a 5-star Bharat NCAP crash safety rating and comes with six airbags as standard. Other key features include ABS with EBD, traction control, hill hold assist, ISOFIX anchors, a 360-degree camera, and tyre pressure monitoring system. This strong suite of safety tech ensures peace of mind for city and highway driving alike.

Multiple Engine Choices With Hybrid And CNG Options

Under the bonnet, the Victoris mirrors its sibling, the Grand Vitara, in terms of engine line-up but with refinements. Buyers can choose from three options: a 1.5-litre mild hybrid petrol producing 103hp, a 116hp 1.5-litre strong hybrid, and an 89hp petrol-CNG version. Notably, the CNG variant features an underbody-mounted tank, leaving more space in the boot. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic, and an e-CVT for the hybrid, with the petrol automatic also available with all-wheel drive.

Positioned Against Popular Rivals

As Maruti Suzuki’s second midsize SUV offering after the Grand Vitara, the Victoris is stepping into a highly competitive market. It will directly compete with established models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, and Honda Elevate. With its design, feature set, and multiple powertrain options, the Victoris is expected to appeal to a wide customer base across urban and semi-urban markets.

Arena Network Flagship Model

Unlike the Grand Vitara which sits in the premium Nexa portfolio, the Victoris will headline the Arena dealership network. This strategic positioning allows Maruti to offer two distinct midsize SUVs across its showrooms, widening its reach to different consumer segments. The Victoris will be sold in six trims – LXI, VXI, ZXI, ZXI(O), ZXI+, and ZXI+(O).

Early Buzz Ahead Of Price Reveal

While official prices are yet to be announced, the opening of bookings signals strong anticipation among customers. Given its combination of hybrid technology, advanced safety features, and premium appeal, industry experts expect the Victoris to significantly strengthen Maruti’s position in the growing midsize SUV market in 2025.
