Maruti Suzuki is stepping into the EV market with the e-Vitara, which will officially go on sale on December 2, 2025. Soon after, Tata Motors will unveil the much-anticipated Sierra EV on November 25, followed by Mahindra’s XEV 9S on November 27. Both Tata and Mahindra models are expected to arrive in showrooms in early 2026. Together, these launches are set to strengthen the electric SUV segment with modern designs, strong performance, and advanced technology.

The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara will be offered with 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery pack options, paired with a front-axle electric motor. The larger battery variant will come with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup, giving it enhanced traction and power. Maruti has confirmed that the e-Vitara will deliver a driving range of over 500 km on a single charge, making it one of the most practical EVs in the segment.

Tata Motors is expected to reveal full details of the Sierra EV during its official unveiling. However, reports suggest it will borrow its powertrain from the Harrier EV, which comes with 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs. The Harrier EV’s 65 kWh unit is paired with a 238 PS rear motor, while the 75 kWh pack uses a 158 PS front motor. With an MIDC range of up to 627 km in the Harrier EV, the Sierra EV is also expected to offer a driving range of more than 500 km.

Mahindra’s upcoming XEV 9S will share its platform, design, and powertrain with the XEV 9e. It is expected to come with 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery options, with the top variants likely to deliver a range exceeding 600 km. Mahindra’s teasers have revealed several premium features, including a triple-screen dashboard, a Harman Kardon sound system, sliding second-row seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a memory-function power driver’s seat. These additions make the XEV 9S one of the most feature-rich electric SUVs in the pipeline.
