Next-Gen Jeep Compass Unveiled Globally with EV and Hybrid Options

Jeep has officially taken the wraps off the third-generation Compass SUV, showcasing a bold new look, modern tech, and a platform ready for the future. Built on Stellantis' STLA Medium architecture, the new Compass is more than just a facelift—it’s a complete overhaul aimed at improving everything from performance to safety, while preparing for a flexible powertrain future.

The new platform allows the Compass to support both internal combustion and electric drivetrains, setting the stage for global adaptability. Deliveries will kick off in Europe in late 2025, but an Indian launch is not on the immediate horizon.

Design-wise, the latest Compass blends rugged charm with sleek sophistication. It borrows cues from its Jeep siblings—the compact Avenger and the upscale Grand Cherokee—resulting in a look that's distinctly Jeep but fresh and modern. The signature seven-slot grille sits more upright now, flanked by slim headlights and reinforced bumpers. Radar sensors have also been cleverly repositioned to reduce potential off-road damage.

The SUV’s tough stance is emphasized by shorter front and rear overhangs, sculpted doors, and trapezoidal wheel arches wrapped in robust cladding. Higher trims flaunt large 20-inch alloy wheels, while the sloping window line, blacked-out roof, and pillars lend a premium touch.

At the rear, a split tail lamp setup connected by a sleek LED light bar—and an illuminated Jeep logo—adds flair. A contrasting finish for the number plate area rounds off the sharp rear profile.

With a bold new design, upgraded features, and a platform built for tomorrow, the third-gen Compass signals Jeep’s clear intent to stay ahead in the global SUV game.

Jeep has unveiled the all-new third-generation Compass, and it’s a massive leap forward in both technology and performance. Built to conquer rough terrain and pamper on paved roads, the revamped Compass is now longer, more spacious, and packed with cutting-edge features and powertrain options.

Tougher Than Ever

For the adventure seekers, the 4x4 variants come armed with serious off-road chops. With a ground clearance of 201 mm, approach, breakover, and departure angles of 20, 15, and 26 degrees respectively, and hill descent control as standard, the new Compass is ready for the wild. It can even wade through water up to 470 mm deep.

Dimensionally, the new Compass stretches 4,548 mm in length, which is 150 mm longer than before. A 159 mm longer wheelbase (now 2,795 mm) means it also offers an extra 55 mm of legroom inside, making long journeys much more comfortable.

A Powertrain for Every Need

Jeep is offering a wide range of engine choices for the new Compass, including hybrid and all-electric variants.

Mild-Hybrid:

A 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine paired with 48V mild-hybrid tech and a small 0.9kWh battery produces 145 hp.

Plug-in Hybrid:

A 1.6-litre petrol engine teamed up with a 125 hp electric motor delivers a combined 195 hp, backed by a 21kWh battery for extended electric-only drives.

All-Electric:

Offered with two battery options—73kWh and 97kWh—these models deliver 500 km and 650 km of range respectively (WLTP). The base EV uses a 213 hp front motor, while the higher variant gets a 233 hp motor.

And for those craving performance and capability, the 4xe all-electric AWD variant adds a 179 hp rear motor, giving it a total output of 375 hp and true Jeep 4x4 capabilities.

Charging is quick and convenient too. The Compass EV supports 160 kW DC fast charging, topping up from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes. An onboard 22 kW AC charger is also available for home or office setups.
