With the increasing use of AI-powered traffic cameras across cities, detecting violations like speeding and signal jumping has become faster and more accurate. In response, some people are attempting illegal methods such as altering a single digit or letter on the plate, using fancy fonts or incorrect spacing, applying reflective sprays or films to confuse cameras, or even using someone else’s number plate.

While these tricks may appear effective for a short time, modern systems analyze multiple data points including vehicle type, color, location history, and even chassis and engine details, making it difficult to escape detection.

Authorities have made it clear that such actions are not minor violations but serious crimes under the Motor Vehicles Act. Offenders can face heavy fines, vehicle seizure, and criminal charges. Even workshops or technicians involved in modifying number plates illegally can face strict action.
