Tata Motors has expanded the Safari lineup by introducing its much-awaited petrol variant in the Indian market. Until now, the popular SUV was available only with a diesel engine, but the new petrol option makes the Safari more accessible, especially for buyers looking for a quieter drive and a lower entry price. What’s more interesting is that the petrol Safari has been launched cheaper than its diesel counterpart.

Tata Safari Petrol Price in India

The Tata Safari petrol starts at ₹13.29 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top-end variant goes up to ₹25.19 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings are already open, and the SUV is available for purchase across dealerships.
Engine and Performance

Under the hood, the new Safari petrol gets a 1.5-litre Turbo GDI engine that delivers 168 bhp of power and 280 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The setup promises a smooth and refined driving experience, with a claimed fuel efficiency of up to 25 km/l.

Features and Technology

Tata has packed the petrol Safari with premium and tech-forward features. Highlights include a massive 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Dolby Atmos audio, an inbuilt dashcam, front camera washer, digital and electronic IRVMs, and memory ORVMs with auto reverse dip.
