Toyota Fortuner & Legender Go Hybrid in India with Neo Drive Tech!

Toyota has rolled out mild-hybrid versions of the Fortuner and its premium sibling, the Legender, in India. Branded as the “Neo Drive 48V” variants, these updated SUVs are priced at ₹44.72 lakh for the Fortuner and ₹50.09 lakh for the Legender (ex-showroom). Bookings are open, with deliveries kicking off from the third week of June.

What’s New Under the Hood?
The heart of both models remains the trusted 2.8-litre diesel engine producing 204 hp and 500 Nm of torque. The new twist? A 48V mild-hybrid system featuring a belt-integrated starter generator and a lithium-ion battery. This setup enhances fuel efficiency, offers smoother low-speed driving, and brings quieter engine starts.

Feature Upgrades

While the design and interiors remain familiar, Toyota has added a few tech perks to the Neo Drive trims:

  • 360-degree panoramic camera
  • Wireless smartphone charger
  • 'Neo Drive' badge on the tailgate

Expanding Toyota’s Green Footprint
With this move, the Fortuner and Legender join Toyota’s growing hybrid lineup in India, which already includes the Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Glanza.

In Short: Toyota is blending power with efficiency in its iconic SUVs, giving them a greener edge without changing their rugged appeal.
