Essential Car Checklist Before Going on a Long Road Trip

Going on a long road trip can be exciting, but ensuring your car is ready is equally important. A thorough inspection before the journey not only prevents breakdowns but also ensures safety and peace of mind. From checking fluid levels to inspecting tyres, preparing your vehicle in advance will make your trip smooth and stress-free.

Check Engine Oil and Other Fluids

Engine oil is the lifeblood of your car, and driving long distances with low or old oil can damage the engine. Check the engine oil level and condition, and top it up or replace it if needed. Also, inspect other essential fluids such as coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and windshield washer fluid.

Inspect Tyres and Spare Tyre

Your tyres are in constant contact with the road, so their condition is crucial. Check for proper air pressure, tread depth, and any signs of wear or cuts. Don’t forget to inspect the spare tyre as well. Carry a tyre inflator and puncture repair kit for emergencies.

Test the Battery
