VinFast Gears Up for India: VF7 Electric SUV to Lead the Charge!
Vietnamese EV maker VinFast is ready to hit the Indian roads, kicking off its journey with the launch of the VF7 electric SUV, followed closely by the VF6. Bookings for both models are expected to open later this month.
A Solid Start: Manufacturing and Investment
VinFast is backing its India entry with a hefty investment of USD 500 million in a new manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu. This facility will initially roll out 50,000 vehicles per year, with future plans to triple production to 1.5 lakh units. The company will assemble cars locally as CKD (Completely Knocked Down) units, ensuring competitive pricing and faster delivery.
Laying the Groundwork: Retail and Service Network
Alongside launching EVs, VinFast is setting up a pan-India dealership and service network. This strategic move aims to build strong customer support from day one and boost consumer confidence in the new brand.
VF7: The Flagbearer for VinFast in India
The VF7 will be the first model to launch, as seen earlier this year at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Globally, the VF7 comes in two variants—Eco and Plus.
Both variants pack a 75.3 kWh battery, with the Eco offering a range of 450 km, and the Plus delivering 431 km on a single charge (claimed figures).
Smart, Stylish & Feature-Packed
The VF7 comes with modern design elements like a D-cut steering wheel, button-style central console, and a dual-tone brown and black cabin.
Final specs, pricing, and warranty details will be revealed at the time of launch. It’s also unclear whether VinFast will introduce its battery subscription model in India—something to watch for at the official debut.
With an ambitious roadmap and a tech-savvy SUV lineup, VinFast is all set to make a bold entrance into India's booming EV market.
