How to Retrieve Aadhaar Without the Number

If your Aadhaar card is lost, visit the official UIDAI website. Under the My Aadhaar section, click on Retrieve Lost or Forgotten UID/EID. Enter your full name, date of birth, and the mobile number or email ID linked to Aadhaar. Fill in the captcha and submit the form.

You’ll receive an OTP on your registered mobile number or email. Once you enter the OTP, your Aadhaar details will appear on the screen. UIDAI will also send the details via SMS or email. This entire process is simple, quick, and completely free.

What If Your Mobile Number Is Not Linked?

If your mobile number is not linked with Aadhaar, the online option won’t work. In this case, visit the nearest Aadhaar enrollment center. Carry the 28-digit enrollment ID mentioned on the acknowledgment slip you received during Aadhaar registration. After biometric verification, you’ll be issued an e-Aadhaar card. A small fee of around ₹30 is charged for this service.

Order a PVC Aadhaar Card Too

UIDAI also provides a PVC Aadhaar card, which is sturdy like an ATM or debit card and easy to carry. To order it, visit the UIDAI website, enter your Aadhaar number, and verify via OTP. Select the Order Aadhaar PVC Card option and make an online payment of ₹50. UIDAI prints the card and sends it to your home through speed post within a few days.
