Farmers Eligible For ₹12,000 Annual Assistance Under Major Welfare Scheme
To support farmers across the country, the central government runs the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, commonly known as PM Kisan Yojana . Under this scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 every year, which is transferred directly into their bank accounts in three instalments. While the scheme provides steady income support, several state governments have introduced additional programmes that offer higher financial assistance to farmers annually.
PM Kisan Yojana And Its Financial Support
The PM Kisan Yojana is aimed at providing direct income support to farmers to help meet agricultural and household needs. The yearly assistance of ₹6,000 is distributed in three equal instalments, ensuring regular cash flow throughout the year. The money is credited directly to farmers’ bank accounts, reducing delays and ensuring transparency. However, for many farmers, especially small and marginal ones, this amount may not be sufficient to meet rising input costs.State Schemes Offering Higher Assistance
To further strengthen farmer welfare, various state governments have launched their own support schemes. Among these, Odisha’s KALIA Yojana and Telangana’s Rythu Bandhu scheme provide higher annual financial assistance compared to PM Kisan Yojana. These schemes are designed to address region-specific agricultural needs while ensuring direct benefit transfers to eligible farmers. You may also like
