Maiya Samman Yojana Instalment Before Holi; ₹2,500 To Be Credited To Eligible Women
Maiya Samman Yojana Announces Pre-Holi ₹2,500 Transfer; Check Who Qualifies: The Jharkhand government has taken a fresh step to strengthen the Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana, a flagship women financial empowerment initiative in the state. Under the scheme, eligible women already receive ₹2,500 every month directly into their bank accounts. Now, more than 51 lakh enrolled beneficiaries will also be able to access collateral free loan support of up to ₹20,000 from banks.
The decision was finalised after discussions between the State Level Bankers Committee and the state authorities. The move is expected to encourage women to start small businesses, invest in self-employment opportunities and contribute more actively to household income without the burden of arranging guarantees.
Repayment will be streamlined and manageable. The monthly instalments will be deducted directly from the ₹2,500 financial assistance credited to beneficiaries. This mechanism reduces the risk of default and simplifies the repayment process for both banks and borrowers.
Officials believe this structure will give women confidence to explore income-generating activities such as tailoring, small retail shops, food processing or other micro-enterprises.
At the same time, the government has begun identifying ineligible applicants who may have enrolled despite not meeting the criteria. Such names will be removed to ensure that the benefits reach only deserving women.
Every eligible woman receives ₹2,500 per month directly through a direct benefit transfer system. The combination of steady monthly aid and easy access to loans is expected to create a more sustainable support structure.
Applicants must complete Aadhaar seeding by linking their bank account with Aadhaar. This can be done at their respective bank branches or through special camps organised at the Gram Panchayat level. E-KYC is mandatory. Without completing this process, funds under the monthly financial aid scheme will not be transferred.
Documents required for enrolment include Aadhaar card, ration card, bank passbook, voter ID card and a passport-sized photograph.
With the addition of collateral free loan access and continued monthly support, the Maiya Samman Yojana is evolving into a comprehensive women financial empowerment programme. By combining direct income assistance with credit opportunities, the scheme aims to help millions of women in Jharkhand move towards greater economic independence and long-term stability.
