How to Update Name, Address or Date of Birth on PAN Card

Correcting PAN details is a simple digital process:
  • Visit the official NSDL or UTIITSL website
  • Click on “Changes/Correction in PAN”
  • Enter basic details like PAN number, name, date of birth and email ID
  • A 15-digit token number will be generated
  • Select the fields you want to correct and update them
  • Upload supporting documents such as address proof, DOB proof and photo
  • Pay the required fee and submit the form
Once done, download the acknowledgement slip. You can track your application status later using this slip.

Beware of Fake PAN and Aadhaar Cards

Using or creating fake identity documents is a serious offence. As per UIDAI rules, making a fake Aadhaar card can lead to up to 3 years of imprisonment and a fine of ₹10,000. Similarly, reports suggest that a fake PAN card can attract a ₹10,000 fine and up to 6 months in jail.
