For millions of salaried employees in India, the Provident Fund (PF) acts as a crucial financial safety net. Each month, 12% of the employee’s salary is contributed to the PF account, with an equal share from the employer. Over time, the fund grows with government-mandated interest, becoming a valuable reserve during emergencies. With this new upgrade, accessing those savings has never been easier.

Step-by-Step Guide to Withdraw PF Online

  1. Visit the EPFO Website: Go to the official EPFO portal – https://www.epfindia.gov.in/
  2. Login with UAN: Enter your Universal Account Number (UAN) and password.
  3. Start the Claim Process: Select ‘Claim (Form-31, 19, 10C & 10D)’ under the ‘Online Services’ tab.
  4. Verify Your Details: Ensure Aadhaar and bank details are accurate.
  5. Submit the Form: Fill in the withdrawal reason and complete the form.
  6. OTP Confirmation: Authenticate the claim using the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.

Important Checks Before Applying

To benefit from the 72-hour settlement, members must ensure that:

  • Their KYC details (Aadhaar, PAN, and bank account) are verified.
  • The bank account is linked to the UAN.
  • Personal details are up to date.

Any mismatch in documents can lead to delays or rejection of the claim. However, if all details are correct, the funds are usually credited directly into the member’s bank account within three working days.

A Big Relief for Salaried Employees

This streamlined process marks a major improvement in the EPFO’s service delivery, ensuring employees get faster access to their hard-earned savings during times of need. By making withdrawals more efficient, EPFO is giving members better control over their financial security.
