PNB Cuts Daily ATM Withdrawal Limit to Rs 50,000 - Know Why the Rule Changed

Punjab National Bank (PNB) has announced a reduction in the daily ATM cash withdrawal limit for certain debit cards. The new limits will come into effect from April 1, 2026, as part of the bank’s move to strengthen risk control and improve customer security.

Earlier, some debit cards allowed customers to withdraw up to Rs 1 lakh per day from ATMs. Under the revised rules, the limit for these cards has been reduced to Rs 50,000 per day. Similarly, cards that earlier had a Rs 1.50 lakh daily withdrawal limit will now allow withdrawals of up to Rs 75,000.

Debit Cards with New Rs 50,000 Daily Limit

Customers using the following cards will now be able to withdraw a maximum of Rs 50,000 per day from ATMs:
  • RuPay NCMC Platinum Domestic Debit Card
  • RuPay NCMC Platinum International Debit Card
  • RuPay Women Power Platinum Debit Card
  • RuPay PNB Palaash Debit Card (Recycled PVC)
  • RuPay Business Platinum NCMC Debit Card
  • MasterCard Platinum Debit Card
  • Visa Gold Debit Card
  • PNB MasterCard Platinum Rise Debit Card

Debit Cards with Rs 75,000 Daily Limit

For the following cards, the revised daily ATM withdrawal limit will be Rs 75,000:
  • RuPay Select Debit Card
  • PNB RuPay Select Neo
  • PNB RuPay Select Excel
  • Visa Signature Debit Card
  • MasterCard Business Debit Card

How to Change Your Debit Card Limit

PNB customers can easily modify their debit card withdrawal limits through internet banking or the PNBOne mobile app. Here’s how:
  • Log in to Internet Banking.
  • Go to Value Added Services.
  • Select Debit Card Personalisation.
  • Choose the account number and service.
  • Enter the card number, expiry date, and PIN.
  • Enter the new limit and click Update.
  • Verify the request using the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.

Other Cards and Transactions Unaffected

PNB has clarified that debit cards not included in the list will continue with their existing ATM withdrawal limits.


The bank also confirmed that the revised ATM limits will not affect transactions made through POS machines, e-commerce platforms, or contactless payments. Limits for these payment modes will remain unchanged.

With these updated rules, PNB aims to tighten security while ensuring customers can still carry out everyday transactions smoothly.
