Vande Bharat Sleeper Tickets Range From ₹960 To ₹13,300 With Confirmed Berths Only
The Indian Railways is set to redefine long-distance travel with the launch of the Vande Bharat Sleeper Express trains, promising a blend of speed, safety, and enhanced passenger comfort. Designed for overnight journeys, these trains will feature fully air-conditioned berths, advanced safety mechanisms, and modern interiors reminiscent of premium airline cabins. With fares structured according to travel distance, passengers can now expect a seamless, high-quality experience across short and ultra-long routes, making long-haul train travel more convenient and comfortable than ever before.
The introduction of Vande Bharat Sleeper Express trains marks a significant shift in Indian Railways’ long-distance travel strategy, combining modern design, speed, and safety with transparent, distance-based pricing. Passengers can now enjoy a premium train journey comparable to airline travel, while the fully digital, confirmed-ticket system ensures smoother, more reliable travel planning.
Distance-Based Fares Offer Transparency
The new Vande Bharat Sleeper trains follow a clear distance-based fare system. For journeys up to 400 km, prices start at ₹960 for 3AC, ₹1,240 for 2AC, and ₹1,520 for 1AC. Mid-range distances up to 1,600 km are priced at ₹3,840 (3AC), ₹4,960 (2AC), and ₹6,080 (1AC). The longest journeys spanning 3,500 km will cost ₹8,400 (3AC), ₹10,850 (2AC), and ₹13,300 (1AC). These incremental fares ensure passengers pay fairly based on the distance covered, reflecting an airline-style pricing model that emphasises premium services for long-haul travellers.Confirmed Tickets Only
Unlike traditional trains, the Vande Bharat Sleeper trains will operate exclusively with confirmed tickets. There will be no RAC (Reservation Against Cancellation), waitlisted, or partially confirmed berths. All tickets are guaranteed from the start of the reservation period, allowing passengers to plan their trips without uncertainty. This approach ensures full occupancy and prioritises comfort and convenience, particularly for overnight travellers seeking uninterrupted rest.Existing Quotas Remain Applicable
Quotas for senior citizens, women, persons with disabilities, and duty pass holders will continue as per current rules, with no additional allocations. Duty passes for railway employees will be on par with premium Rajdhani-type services. The reservation system will automatically allot lower berths to male passengers aged 60 and above and female passengers aged 45 and above, ensuring accessibility and convenience for older travellers. You may also like

Digital Reservations and Child Policy
All bookings must be completed digitally through official channels. Only fully reimbursable passes are eligible for ticket purchase, while complimentary and concessional passes that are not reimbursed will not be allowed. Standard child fares apply, and if a child does not require a separate berth, a lower berth will be allocated based on availability.
