The 24-Hour Rule

When and How to Lodge a Complaint

  • Details from your receipt, SMS alert, or bank statement.

Escalating to Banking Ombudsman


If your bank delays or fails to take satisfactory action, you can escalate the matter to the Banking Ombudsman. As per RBI rules, banks must resolve failed transactions within 45 days. If they fail, they must return the principal amount along with applicable interest.
