Newspoint
Gold prices saw a minor uptrend on March 31, 2026, with rates moving slightly higher across major jewellery brands in cities like Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru. Even as yellow metal prices fluctuate at major brands such as Tanishq, Malabar Gold & Diamonds and Joyalukkas, and India Bullion and Jewellers Association Ltd (IBJA), many buyers continue to track daily gold rates closely, specially with ongoing global uncertainties influencing market sentiment.

Gold rate prediction

Prithviraj Kothari, managing director, RiddiSiddhi Bullions Ltd, says that in the short term, gold and silver rates are likely to remain volatile but broadly range-bound, driven by a tug-of-war between safe-haven demand and macro headwinds.
“Gold may consolidate with a mild negative bias unless weaker US data revives rate cut expectations. Silver, with its dual industrial exposure, could underperform gold but remain highly reactive to risk sentiment. Overall, dips are expected to attract buying interest, indicating underlying strength despite near-term uncertainty and intermittent profit booking across global markets,” says Kothari.
