All eyes are on Farhan Akhtar's long-awaited project Don 3, starring Ranveer Singh, with fans eager to know whether the film will actually go on floors. For months, social media has been flooded with speculation about creative differences, rumours of a fallout between Ranveer and Farhan, and even claims that Ranveer exited the project, with reports suggesting financial losses for the production. However, Ranveer Singh has not publicly responded to any of these allegations.

Amid the ongoing chatter, Farhan Akhtar recently addressed the controversy surrounding the project and the reported rift. Days after his interview, another report shed light on alleged reasons behind the delay and creative differences.

According to a report by Free Press Journal, tensions reportedly stemmed from disagreements over the film's scripting. Ranveer Singh is said to have pushed for several changes, including the inclusion of stronger language and a more aggressive tone in line with contemporary action films.

The report also claims that Ranveer made extensive on-set requests, such as multiple vanity vans, specific arrangements for privacy, a large supply of ice, limited crew interaction through a chosen assistant, and preference over supervising or editing his action sequences in a studio of his choice. While some of these demands were reportedly accommodated by the production, sources suggest they added to creative friction.

Further reports also claim Ranveer envisioned a more intense and violent interpretation of the Don character, inspired by the changing tone of modern action cinema. This reportedly clashed with Farhan Akhtar's original vision for the franchise, which he intended to stay faithful to the earlier films.

A source cited in the report stated that Farhan, known for his strong creative control, was unwilling to compromise on his vision and preferred to proceed with the original concept he had planned for the film.

He further added, "It has just been about working with the people I want to work with, whether directing them or acting in films I want to be part of with directors I admire. It has been amazing. You realise that at some point, there will be a period that's a little more challenging. You've had it good, so it's okay... just take it in your stride."

Farhan's statement comes amid reports that Ranveer Singh, currently seen in Dhurandhar, has compensated him with Rs 10 crore. According to reports, Ranveer has also agreed to give the makers a stake in his next film, tentatively titled Pralay.

All you need to know about the controversy

Following Ranveer Singh's exit from Don 3, Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment also approached the Producers Guild of India, alleging that the actor's sudden departure led to losses of ₹40 crore. Reports further suggest that Ranveer felt Farhan had prioritised other projects over Don 3, and that he was brought on board after the success of Dhurandhar.

It was also reported that since Ranveer Singh has exited the project, Hrithik Roshan would step into the role. However, Hrithik has denied being offered the film or being associated with the Don franchise.

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is basking in the success of Dhurandhar parts 1 and 2 and is also on cloud nine as he is set to embrace fatherhood for the second time.
