When can Ladki Bahin scheme instalment come?

Many women beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin scheme who have already completed their e-KYC, are yet to get the instalment of the December month. With January 2026 already underway, women beneficiaries are now also waiting for the current month’s instalment. Many beneficiaries are confused about the date of the January instalment as the government is yet to announce it.

The Maharashtra government had made e-KYC mandatory to ensure that only eligible beneficiaries continue to receive payments under the scheme. The deadline was also extended to December 31, 2025, so that more women could complete their e-KYC. However, despite complying with this condition, several women are still waiting for their pending instalment, keen to know the reasons for processing delays and the timeline for the instalment disbursal date.

Earlier, Maharashtra’s women and child development Aditi Tatkare had asked beneficiaries to complete their e-KYC process to avail benefits of the scheme. She also said that he deadline to complete e-KYC was December 31, 2025. She had urged women beneficiaries to complete their e-KYC fast to get the instalment of the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin scheme.

Aditi Tatkare had posted a message on her social media account on X (formerly Twitter). Her message read, “To ensure the uninterrupted continuation of the benefits under the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin scheme, it is absolutely essential to complete the e-KYC process. The final deadline for this is December 31, 2025, and now only the last 4 days remain. This is a humble request to all beloved sisters to complete their E-KYC process today itself!”

On which portal can women beneficiaries complete their eKYC for Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin scheme?
The Maharashtra government said that the facility to complete e-KYC for all beneficiaries of the scheme has been made available on the web portal – https://ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in.

When can the next instalment of Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin come?
So far, there has been no official announcement or clarification from the government’s side about the date of the next instalment. Some news suggest that the government may release the instalment amount after the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, which are scheduled to take place on January 15, 2026. But in lack of information from a government source, there is no clarity about the instalment date.

What is Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana?
Under this scheme, eligible women in the age group of 21 to 65 in Maharashtra will be provided with a financial benefit of Rs 1,500 per month through direct benefit transfer (DBT).

What is the amount a beneficiary of Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana will receive?
The said beneficiary woman will receive benefits of Rs 1,500/- or more per month through a financial scheme implemented by other departments of the government.

Who is eligible for the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin scheme benefit?

Must be a resident of the state of Maharashtra.
Married, widowed, divorced, abandoned and destitute women in the state as well as only one unmarried woman in the family.
Until the minimum age of 21 years and the maximum age of 65 years.
The beneficiary should have her own bank account linked to the Aadhaar card.
The annual income of the beneficiary family should not exceed Rs 2.50 lakh.

Who is not eligible for the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin scheme?
Those whose combined annual family income is more than Rs 2.50 lakh.
Those whose family members are income taxpayers.
Those whose family members are working as regular/permanent employees in any Government Department/Undertaking/Board/Local Body of Government of India or State Government or are drawing pension after retirement.
However, employees working through external agencies, voluntary workers and contractual employees with an income up to Rs 2.50 lakh will be eligible.
Those whose family members are Chairman/Vice Chairman/Director/Member of a Board/Corporation/Undertaking of the Government of India or a State Government.
Those who have a four-wheeled vehicle (excluding tractors) registered in the name of their family members.

Required documents for Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin scheme
As per a Maharashtra government brochure, documents required to get the benefit of the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin scheme are-
1. Aadhar Card (Name should be mentioned in the application as per the Aadhar Card)

2. Domicile certificate, if the certificate is not available, any one of the following (ration card issued before 15 years/Voter ID issued before 15 years/birth certificate/school leaving certificate) of the woman.
3. If the woman was born in a foreign state, then any one of the following: (Ration card issued before 15 years/Voter ID card issued before 15 years/birth certificate/school leaving certificate/domicile certificate) of the husband.
4. Annual income should be less than Rs 2.50 lakh.
a) Income certificate is not required if you have a yellow or an orange ration card.
b) If you have a white ration card or if you do not have any ration card, a certificate stating that your annual income is up to Rs 2.50 lakh is required.
5. In case of a newly married woman, if her name is not mentioned on the ration card, the ration card of the husband of the newly married woman with a marriage certificate will be accepted as proof of income.
6. Bank account details (the account should be Aadhaar linked).
7. Guarantee letter and a photo of the beneficiary woman.
