19yo BCom student stabbed to death by 2 boys after dispute during volleyball match

Agra: A 19-year-old BCom student was brutally stabbed to death following a dispute over a "foul" decision during a local volleyball match in Muzaffarnagar, police said, adding that two boys -- 16 and 17 years -- were detained on Friday after the "knife attack".

The victim, Paras Kumar, who was in one of the teams, got involved in a heated argument with some members of the other side. Later that evening, Kumar was called outside his home and allegedly attacked. He was taken to hospital with multiple cut wounds. He died soon after.

Muzaffarnagar SSP Sanjay Kumar Verma said, "The incident took place at Meghakhedi village around 5:30pm on Thursday. A dispute had broken out over a ‘foul' during the game. Two boys have been held, and a case of murder has been registered."

SHO (Nai Mandi), Brijesh Kumar Sharma, added, "Both the boys will be presented before the juvenile court. The body has been sent for postmortem."

Besides BNS section 103-1 (murder), the FIR mentioned sections 333 (house-trespass for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint) and 352 (intentional insult to provoke a breach of the peace).
