2 dead, 13 injured as mini truck overturns in Akola

Akola: Two farm labourers were killed while 13 others were injured after a mini truck carrying cotton pickers from Madhya Pradesh overturned on Apatapa Road in Akola on Saturday evening. The accident occurred when the driver lost control while trying to avoid a two-wheeler, police said.

According to prelim information, the mini truck was returning to the workers' settlement after a day of cotton picking.

The vehicle was carrying 15 labourers at time of the accident.

The impact of the accident was severe, throwing the labourers out of the vehicle and triggering panic at the scene of the accident.

Passers-by and local residents rushed to help the injured before the arrival of emergency services.
