40 vehicles seized & 1,508 challans issued in spl drive

Lucknow: In a special enforcement drive conducted by Lucknow Police on Saturday, nearly 7,300 vehicles were checked out of which 40 were seized and 1508 challans issued against the vehicle owners for violation of rules.

The drive was conducted in three high-impact time slots: morning rush (7-9am), afternoon (12-2pm) and late evening (9-11pm) — covering busy intersections such as 1090 Crossing, IT Chauraha, Nishatganj and Kaiserbagh.

DCP traffic, Raveena Tyagi said a significant number of violations involved helmetless riding, triple riding, modified silencers and vehicles without number plates or valid documents. Several bikes were seized for illegal alterations and missing paperwork.

Police commissioner, Amrendra Kumar Sengar said such drives would continue with greater intensity. TNN
