65-year-old man gets life term for murder
Koderma : The court of additional district and sessions judge-I, Ghulam Haider, on Tuesday sentenced 65-year-old Hiralal Yadav to rigorous life imprisonment for the murder of a local youth in 2022.
In addition to the life term, the court imposed a fine of Rs 15,000, with an additional year of imprisonment mandated should the convict fail to pay.
The court further found the accused guilty under Section 201 of the IPC for the concealment of evidence, handing down a five-year sentence and Rs 5,000 fine. All the sentences will run concurrently and the fine amounts will be disbursed to the victim’s family as compensation, said the court.

Yadav, a resident of Bela village under Markacho police station limits, was the uncle-in-law of the victim, Sonu Yadav . The latter was having an extra-marital affair with the accused’s daughter and also made her pregnant.
The case dates back to March 18, 2022, when 25-year-old Sonu left his home after receiving a phone call from Hiralal’s residence requesting a meeting. According to the complaint filed by the victim’s father, Sonu went to Bela village on his motorcycle but never returned. Next morning, the villagers discovered Sonu’s blood-soaked body on the railway tracks. The victim had sustained injuries to his head and ears.
During the trial, public prosecutor Praveen Kumar Singh said that they presented testimony from 11 witnesses to establish the gravity of the crime after which the court pronounced its verdict.
