Tim Curry has been left unable to walk and is reliant on a team of carers after suffering a stroke 13 years ago. The Home Alone actor, 79, made a candid admission as he credited his masseur for saving his life when he suffered a stroke in 2012. Tim, who is now paralysed on the left side, opened up about the heart-wrenching moment he suffered a stroke while having a massage. He opened up about the experience in his new memoir, Vagabond, and discussed his health woes in a candid interview.

The masseur made a 911 call following Tim's stroke as the actor recalled telling them, "that's so silly". "I probably owe my life to the fact that he ignored me, went with his instinct, and called an ambulance," he explained. "Even as they were loading me in, I still thought my masseur had overreacted, and that we were going through a ridiculous and unnecessary exercise."

After his evaluation, doctors determined the actor would need a craniectomy.

He did not learn the true severity of his condition until the procedure was already done.

In September, he opened up about his wellbeing during a special screening in honour of the film's musical theatre.

Speaking to the audience at LA's Academy Museum, Tim said: "I still can't walk, which is why I'm in this silly chair, and that's very limiting.

"So, I won't be singing and I won't be dancing very soon. I still have real problems with my left leg."

The legendary actor has largely remained out of the public eye since he suffered a stroke.

Tim has enjoyed an illustrious career on stage and on screen having appeared in the likes of Annie (1982), Home Alone 2 (1992) and Charlie's Angels (2000).
