Ajit Pawar, Three Others Died In A Plane Crash During An Emergency Landing In Baramati, Maharashtra
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP chief Ajit Pawar died on Wednesday morning after the aircraft he was travelling in crashed during an emergency landing in Baramati, officials said. Three other people on board were also killed in the accident.
The plane went down at around 8.45 am while attempting an emergency landing in Baramati town of Pune district. Authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of the crash, and an investigation has been initiated.
According to sources, Ajit Pawar was on his way to Baramati to attend a programme linked to the zilla panchayat elections.
Dramatic visuals from the crash site showed the mangled remains of the aircraft engulfed in flames, with thick smoke rising into the air. Local residents rushed to the spot, followed closely by fire services and emergency teams, who began rescue and containment operations.
