Assam Rifles trains CISF personnel on drone security in Agartala
AGARTALA: The Assam Rifles organised a drone awareness and training session for personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force ( CISF ), according to a release issued on Thursday.
The programme was held at the Assam Rifles ground on Wednesday, where experts briefed participants on different types of drones, their capabilities and the security challenges they may pose.

"With the increasing use of drones in both civilian and security domains, the training aimed to familiarise CISF personnel with the evolving challenges posed by unmanned aerial systems and equip them with the necessary skills to respond effectively", the release said.
"Special emphasis was laid on the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to be followed during drone encounters, including identification, threat assessment, and appropriate response measures", it said.
The session also included a practical component, giving CISF personnel hands-on experience with drone operations.
"Participants witnessed live demonstrations of drone flying and were trained in basic handling and maneuvering techniques. The practical segment also enabled them to understand methods of identifying different drone models and their functionalities in real-time scenarios", it stated.
Officials said such joint training initiatives are important for improving coordination between agencies and strengthening operational readiness.
"The programme not only improved technical awareness among CISF personnel but also boosted their confidence in dealing with drone-related situations. Participants appreciated the initiative, describing it as timely and highly relevant in the current security landscape", the release added.
The CISF is responsible for security at MBB Airport in Agartala.
