Bargain Hunt presenter Charles Hanson was left utterly speechless after he uncovered a miraculous find hidden beneath his floorboards. The 47-year-old antiques expert is recognised for being a fixture on programmes such as the BBC's Antiques Road Trip and, formerly, Flog It. He serves as an antiques specialist on various television shows, but he recently offered followers a glimpse into his personal life after stumbling upon an unexpected discovery at his residence, which is understood to be in Derbyshire.

On Tuesday (March 24), the broadcaster shared a clip from inside his lavish home starting in the hallway. It was at this point that he panned down and showed off the impressive tiles dating back to the 1800s hidden beneath his carpet.

The Victorian tiling featured an acorn border and a quatered floral motif which ran throughout the downstairs hallway. He gushed: "It's a gorgeous, almost medieval revival, gothic art nouveau-trailed design with a pop of blue coming through."

The clip then cuts to him scraping away the plaster still remaining at the back of the property before brushing it away to reveal the beautiful tiling underneath. Hanson went on: "It just proves you can really dig for history.

"My mosaic Victorian floor has been covered up, I think, since the 1970s, but there's no underfloor heating with this," he chuckled. It didn't take long before fans flocked to the comments to share their surprise online, with one user posting: "Gorgeous tiles, such a find. Hope they clean up beautifully."

Another chimed in with: "Those floor tiles are very similar in design to what Augustus Pugin would have designed. Very much of the 'gothic revival' era. What an absolutely great find!"

A third echoed: "They look great! These were very common in Victorian times; we had those in our London house in the entrance hall, the very same pattern. But have not seen them used in this expanse, you're so lucky!"

But he isn't the only host from the BBC show who has shared a personal update lately. Auctioneer Danny Sebastian sparked exit fears over the festive period after the Christmas TV special aired.

The mid-century modern expert gave fans an insight into the behind-the-scenes snaps from the festive special, which left viewers worried about his future on the show.

He penned: "I've not seen yesterday's Christmas episode as of yet, and if you haven't dont forget you can catch it on @BBCiPlayer. I so enjoyed doing this programme, and I do hope you enjoyed it too."

After sharing the Christmas post online, the official Bargain Hunt account reshared it, adding a cryptic caption. It read: "Thanks for the memories, Danny [heart emoji, Christmas tree emoji]" to which he replied: "Thanks for the show".

This sparked fears amongst fans that he might be leaving the show in the new year, but thankfully, the presenter remains a mainstay on the long-running show.
