Beauty brand with 12 UK stores set to open in iconic city high street

A major beauty retailer with 11 stores in the UK is opening another on an iconic shopping street. Sephora has announced that a new store will open in Carnaby Street in London later this year.

Sephorais a French multinational retailer selling personal care and beauty products, offering nearly 340 brands alongside its own private label, Sephora Collection. Its product range includes cosmetics, skincare, fragrances, nail polish, beauty tools, body care products, and hair care items. The new Carnaby Street store will be 4,400 square feet, with 2,600 of this being trading space. In addition to a wide array of brands, many of which are exclusive to Sephora, there will be 'Beauty Scan' technology that can provide personalised beauty recommendations. Also on Carnaby Street are other beauty giants like Charlotte Tilbury, Pureseoul, Pixi, Sculpted by Aimee, Grown Alchemist, and Aesop. Catherine Spindler, president of Sephora Europe and Middle East, added: "We are very excited to reveal this new store format, carving out our own unique path through an expansion strategy and commitment that reflect our ongoing consumer engagement.

"We're thrilled to bring this new experience of Sephora London - a city that has always been at the heart of beauty culture and innovation."

William Oliver, director of retail and restaurant leasing at real estate investment trustShaftesbury Capital, said: "Sephora is without a doubt one of the most coveted brands in the UK right now.

"Its emphasis on curation, bringing together products and experiences that can't be found elsewhere, means Sephora UK will differentiate itself from the beauty offer in Soho, complementing the existing retail mix and aligning with Carnaby Street's appeal to such a broad consumer base.

"That we've been able to secure this first site in the West End is a clear sign of Carnaby Street's reputation for best-in-class retail, and it will be really exciting to reveal this unique space in the summer."

Sephora now has three stores in London (Westfield White City, Westfield Stratford), two in Manchester (Trafford Centre, Arndale Centre), and two in Newcastle (Eldon Square, Metrocentre).

There is also one in Birmingham (Bullring Centre), one in Liverpool (Liverpool ONE), one in Cardiff (St David's), one in Dartford (Bluewater), one in Oxford (Westgate), and one in Sheffield (Meadowhall).
