Belagavi: Boiler blast at sugar factory claims seven lives

Belagavi: The death toll in the boiler blast at the Inamdar sugar factory, located on the outskirts of Marakumbi in Bailhongal taluk of Belagavi district, has risen to seven, after four more injured workers died during treatment on Thursday (January 8).

The explosion occurred at the sugar factory on Wednesday, killing three workers on the spot and leaving several others injured. Four of the injured workers later succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment, taking the total number of deaths to seven.

Another injured worker has been admitted to a private hospital in Belagavi, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Authorities are continuing further procedures in connection with the incident.
