Bellandur woman says Bengaluru airport trip took 3.5 hours amid traffic congestion

Bengaluru: A video posted by a young woman expressing frustration over heavy traffic congestion on the route to Kempegowda International Airport has gone viral on social media.

The woman, identified as Sakshi, shared her experience on Instagram after travelling from Bellandur to Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru.

She described it as the “worst airport journey” of her life.

According to her, it took nearly three-and-a-half hours to reach the airport from Bellandur. She said the long journey caused headache and hunger, and felt more like a struggle for survival than a normal trip.

Sakshi said she left her house at around 6 pm and reached the airport only by 9.30 pm. In the video, she mentioned that she was worried whether she would even make it to the airport on time.

Traffic jams were reported at several points along the route. She added that she could reach on time only because her IndiGo flight was delayed. “This time, IndiGo became my saviour,” she wrote in the post.

The distance between Bellandur and Kempegowda International Airport is around 47 kilometres.
