Bengaluru Couple Fined ₹1,500 For Kissing Through Sunroof As Viral Video Sparks Outrage

In a bizarre turn of events, a couple in Bengaluru turned heads and raised eyebrows when they were allegedly caught kissing through the sunroof of a moving SUV on Trinity Road Sunday night. A passerby caught the moment on camera—and in no time, the video went viral on social media.

The video was posted by user Karnataka Portfolio, quickly drawing public attention. The SUV, with a Karnataka registration plate, became the center of online buzz. One user even tagged Bengaluru Police on X (formerly Twitter), demanding strict action. Netizens were quick to criticize the couple’s bold display of affection on a public road.




Acting swiftly, police traced the vehicle on Tuesday. Using RTO data, they contacted the registered owner, a Kammanahalli resident, and summoned him to the station. As per The Times of India, a total fine of ₹1,500 was levied—₹1,000 for dangerous driving and ₹500 for obstructing traffic.

"Using the registration details, we obtained the owner's contact information through RTO records and called him to the station. He came in after a couple of hours," a senior police official told TOI.

Interestingly, police said there was no visual evidence to confirm the alleged kiss, despite the viral claims. The SUV owner told police his wife had invited office colleagues for dinner in Koramangala, and later, they went for a drive. She was driving the vehicle during the incident.

So far, no formal complaint has been filed. The moment may have been fleeting, but it’s sparked a larger conversation on road safety, public decency—and what not to do through a sunroof.
