Bengaluru Road Rage: Two Women Arrested for Assaulting Cab Driver After Minor Collision - Viral Video
A routine traffic incident quickly spiralled into a widely shared road rage episode in Bengaluru's Hulimavu neighborhood on Sunday. Two young women allegedly attacked a cab driver following a minor collision on the busy Hulimavu–Devarachikkanahalli Main Road, causing a stir among onlookers and temporarily disrupting traffic flow. A video capturing the chaotic scene has since gone viral, drawing significant public attention on social media platforms.
The incident reportedly began when the two women, riding a two-wheeler, accidentally grazed the rear of a taxi driven by Ahmed, who was en route to pick up a passenger. After stopping, Ahmed requested that the women compensate for the minor damage caused to his vehicle. Instead of cooperating, the women attempted to drive off, prompting local residents to intervene and halt their bike.
As tensions rose, Ahmed tried to prevent their escape by removing the key from the two-wheeler’s ignition. The situation escalated quickly when the women allegedly assaulted Ahmed. According to his complaint, one of the women brandished a metal chain wrapped around her hand and struck him multiple times, targeting his face, hands, and back. The intoxicated women’s aggressive behavior led locals to step in once again to protect the driver.
Following the attack, Ahmed filed a formal complaint at Hulimavu Police Station. The police registered a First Information Report (FIR) and launched an investigation into the matter. The accused, identified as Lisa and Mathew, residents of JP Nagar and Koramangala respectively, have been taken into custody for questioning. The viral footage shows locals struggling to restrain one of the women as she continues to attempt physical harm while making provocative gestures towards Ahmed.
Sources reveal that the women were returning from a hotel visit with friends at the time of the incident. Authorities are now reviewing CCTV footage from the area and collecting witness statements to clarify the sequence of events. Further legal proceedings will depend on the findings of the ongoing investigation.
This disturbing episode serves as a reminder of how quickly a minor road mishap can escalate into serious conflict, emphasizing the need for calm and cooperation on city streets.
