King Charles attended the annual Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey with Queen Camilla and Prince and Princess of Wales, alongside the Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, senior Government figures and a 1,800-strong congregation.

Among the guests were Prince Albert of Monaco, the Princess Royal and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, and opposition leader Kemi Badenoch.

In his message to the family of nations, marking Commonwealth Day, Charles said: "Working together, we can ensure that the Commonwealth continues to stand as a force for good - grounded in community, committed to the kind of restorative sustainability that has a return on investment, enriched by culture, steadfast in its care for our planet, and united in friendship and in the service of its people."

Geri and Christian Horner were the first celebrity arrivals to be seen at the Commonwealth Day service this afternoon.

Former Spice Girl Geri, 53, was wearing her typical shades of white, while former F1 boss Christian was dressed in a smart navy suit.

Princess Catherine of Wales experienced an adorable awkward interaction with Queen Camilla and Princess Anne at the Commonwealth Day Service. Catherine, who was wearing a blue Catherine Walker dress, found that her wide-brimmed hat by Sean Berret prevented her from making the traditional greeting of kissing both cheeks.

This attempted greeting led to an outbreak of giggles among her, Queen Camilla and Princess Anne. Princess Anne then smiled apologetically at Catherine, indicating that she wouldn't even attempt a kiss. Other royals just offered a peck on one cheek for fear of knocking their sizeable headwear.

Queen Camilla wore a piece of jewelry with a long history for the Windsors: the Queen Mother's Cartier Diamond Palm Leaf Brooch.

Its shape echoes a paisley pattern, a motif long associated with the Queen Mother's native Scotland and where she spent much of her childhood.
