Chief Minister’s Medical Assistance Scheme

Targeted at families with limited income, this scheme provides financial help for serious illnesses, covering 14 critical diseases including cancer, heart conditions, and kidney transplants. With support ranging from Rs 20,000 to Rs 5 lakh, the aid is sent directly to hospitals, easing treatment costs. Residents earning below Rs 2.5 lakh annually are eligible.

Mother and Child Protection Scheme

The Janani Bal Suraksha Yojana focuses on reducing maternal and infant mortality. It encourages hospital deliveries by providing financial support, Rs 14,000 for rural mothers and Rs 10,000 for urban mothers. ASHA workers facilitating these deliveries also receive incentives, helping promote safe childbirth across Bihar.

Chief Minister’s Public Health Scheme

Mirroring the Ayushman Bharat scheme at the state level, this initiative ensures families who miss out on central benefits still receive cashless treatment. Covering up to Rs 5 lakh annually, it addresses major health issues such as heart surgery, cancer, neurosurgery, and kidney transplants. Eligible residents can apply for an Ayushman card via the app or local Common Service Centers with their Aadhaar, ration card, and income certificate.

Chief Minister Kishori Health Scheme

Focusing on adolescent girls, this scheme spreads awareness about menstrual health and hygiene among female students from grades 7 to 12 in government schools. To encourage sanitary pad usage and reduce school dropouts, the government deposits Rs 300 annually into the accounts of each beneficiary student.

Bihar’s healthcare initiatives showcase a mix of preventive, curative, and educational strategies. By combining financial aid, awareness programs, and accessible treatment, the state is actively working to ensure healthier lives for its citizens.
