Cabinet push to healthcare manufacturing, life science hub
Bhubaneswar: The state cabinet on Friday approved the Odisha Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Policy-2025, parliamentary affairs minister Mukesh Mahaling said in the state assembly on Saturday.
He said this policy aims to establish Odisha as a strategic entry point for India’s healthcare manufacturing and life science sectors. It will create a planned roadmap for strategic and cluster formation, aligning with the vision of a prosperous Odisha by 2036 and a developed India by 2047, he added.
He said the policy envisions the setting up of the Odisha Pharma Park and Odisha Medtech Park to provide necessary industrial infrastructure.
“Its implementation will be managed through a robust institutional framework, with the Odisha Pharmaceutical Development Cell acting as the lead agency,” said the minister.
