Car dehumidifiers that 'prevent condensation' and steamy windscreens see price cut
The problem of steamy car windscreens is something drivers will know all too well. Now, Amazon shoppers have rated a 'really good' product they use in their cars as a decent solution for helping with condensation.
The product is the Hillington reusable car interior dehumidifier bags, which also come with a mounting, anti-slip mat too. A one kilogram two-pack will cost shoppers £15.99, reduced from £17.99.
According to Amazon, 20k plus have been bought in past month too, and makers Hillington say these keep windscreens clear of condensation, but can also be used in homes, caravans or trucks. They work with active carbon which the brand says "absorbs up to 60% of its weight in moisture" and they're reusable too.
A moisture indicator changes colour (it turns pink) when they need a recharge, and they can be wrapped in kitchen paper and microwaved for five minutes every thirty or so days to refresh them. They're made using premium-grade fabric, for longer durability and reinforced stitching stops leaks or fabric splitting, the brand says.
They come in other sizes too with a single, one kilogram pack costing Amazon shoppers £12.99 and a 250g two-pack priced at £13.99. A two-pack of 450g costs £13.99.
Elsewhere Dunelm has the Tdry Moisture Absorber for Car or Sports Bag for £10. It is said to last for three months and is perfume free. It is designed to 'tackle damp' and odours.
The Range also has the CarKit Microwavable Car Dehumidifier for £4.99. This product is said to have a five-minute recharge time after being microwaved, and can be used to help keep windscreens clear.
With more than 7,500 reviews so far, one Amazon shopper said: "Great quality product, does as it says, stops condensation within my car and all the glass is clear in the mornings. Perfect."
Someone else said: "Day before received pads, windscreen was very wet inside which had to dry off with cloths. Put pads in car when received and next morning, windscreen dry in same weather conditions. Quick dry in microwave before returning to car. Pleased with these thus far."
A third customer said: "Really good. I left it in the car overnight. The previous day my car inside had condensation on the windscreen which was problematic as I'm not able to dry myself. After using this it's no longer a problem. So pleased I purchased."
For one person though, the early verdict was: "Have only been using one of them for a week in the car - so far seem okay."
Another said: "Ok, not if heavy condensation."
While for someone using them in the house, their review said: "Have been by my windows for about two weeks and have just started to change colour. Going into microwave soon!".
