Citizen loses Rs 2.18 lakh in Bitcoin fraud

Vadodara: A 25-year-old man was duped of Rs 2.18 lakhs by a gang of cybercrooks in the city. The victim, Chirag Chauhan, filed a complaint of cheating at Manjalpur police station.

Chauhan told the police that he got a message from an unidentified person in June this year. The person who sent the message introduced himself as Manish Rajput and asked Chauhan to invest in bitcoins.

Chauhan decided to make some investment and sent money to the account given by the accused.

When Chauhan didn't get his money, he realised that he was duped and approached the police.
