CM asks officials to hear public issues in offices twice a week
Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Wednesday asked govt officials across the state to remain present in their offices every Monday and Friday to meet people with grievances and address their problems.
He said the officials of all departments must remain available from the panchayat-level to the state-level on these two days to ensure easy access for the public.
“This new arrangement will come into effect from Jan 19,” Nitish said in a long post on X.

“It has been often observed that when common people visit govt offices with their problems, officials are not present, causing inconvenience to the visitors. Considering this, some important steps have been taken to ensure that the common people of the state do not face any difficulties in matters related to govt offices,” he said in a post in Hindi.
“On the two working days of every week (Monday and Friday), common people will meet the officials concerned at their designated workplace/office chambers in all govt offices at gram panchayat, police station, ‘anchal’, block, subdivision, district, division and the state levels for resolution of their complaints. On both designated days, all officials concerned will be present in their respective offices, meet people respectfully, and resolve their complaints promptly with sensitivity,” the CM said.
“As you all know, just a few days after the formation of the new govt in the state on Nov 20 last year, we announced the ‘ Saat Nishchay-3 ’ programme to include Bihar among the most developed states in the country. The main objective of the seventh resolution of ‘Saat Nishchay-3’, ‘Sabka Samman-Jeevan Aasan’ ( ease of living ), is to reduce the difficulties in the daily lives of all citizens of the state and make their lives easier. We are continuously taking important decisions regarding this,” Nitish said in the opening paragraph of his post.
“Arrangements will be made in all govt offices to welcome visitors respectfully and provide necessary facilities like drinking water, toilets, etc. A register of complaints received from the visitors will be maintained, and a system for continuous monitoring of complaints will also be ensured,” he said.
“All officials concerned have been directed to implement the new system from Jan 19. Its implementation will provide great convenience to common people, and their problems can be resolved quickly,” Nitish wrote.
